Pool Care Tips & FAQs

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Good questions. Clear answers.

Pool care, equipment, plans and what to expect from your visit.

Pool care

How often does a pool in Orlando need service?

Weekly professional care is a practical starting point for many local pools. Pool use, weather and water conditions may call for additional attention between visits; we confirm the right schedule for your property.

Can you clear a green pool, and how long will it take?

We assess the water, debris and filtration before recommending cleanup and treatment. Recovery time varies with the pool’s condition and equipment; we explain the expected process after the assessment.

Why does my pool keep turning green?

Recurring green water can point to an unresolved water-balance, sanitizer or circulation issue. We review the test results and equipment instead of assuming the color has just one cause. Official guidance

What should I do if the water looks cloudy?

Contact us for a water and filtration assessment. Avoid swimming when the water is cloudy or the bottom is not clearly visible; clear-looking water also needs proper testing. Official guidance

What should I do after a hurricane or severe storm?

Stay out of the pool during thunderstorms and wait at least 30 minutes after the last thunder before returning outdoors. Keep away from damaged or flooded electrical equipment, and arrange a pool assessment once access is safe. Official guidance

Does pool care change between summer and winter?

Weather and pool use affect maintenance needs throughout the year. We review the pool’s condition and water results when recommending seasonal adjustments; cooler weather does not eliminate the need for care.

What should I know about Florida pool-safety requirements?

Florida law sets residential pool-safety requirements, and local rules may also apply. Ask your local building department which requirements apply to your property, keep safety barriers and gates working, and always supervise children around water. Official guidance

Water & equipment

Is a saltwater pool different from a chlorine pool?

A saltwater pool uses a salt chlorine generator to make chlorine from dissolved salt. Both systems still need water testing, balancing and equipment care. Official guidance

How long should my pool pump run?

There is no single setting for every pool. The schedule should account for the pump, pool size, filtration, sanitizer equipment and manufacturer requirements; ask us to review your setup. Official guidance

Can a variable-speed pump reduce energy use?

It can reduce energy use when correctly sized and programmed to run at suitable lower speeds. Actual savings depend on your current equipment, operating schedule and electricity rate. Official guidance

Does my pool need phosphate treatment?

We review water testing and the pool’s condition before recommending an additional treatment. Phosphate treatment should not replace routine sanitizer control, cleaning or filtration care.

How do I know when my pool needs resurfacing?

Tell us about rough areas, peeling, cracks or persistent surface problems so they can be assessed. Resurfacing needs a qualified specialist’s evaluation; it is separate from routine pool maintenance.

What is the difference between a heat pump and a gas heater?

Heat pumps transfer heat from the air and suit steady heating in suitable weather; gas heaters generally heat water faster. The best choice depends on how you use the pool, local energy costs and the equipment’s requirements. Official guidance

Is my pool losing water from evaporation or a leak?

Some evaporation is expected, but unusual or persistent water loss deserves an assessment. Track the change and tell us about rain, recent use or visible wet areas; a specialist may be needed to confirm a leak. Official guidance

What should I report between visits?

Let us know about unusual equipment noise, reduced circulation, cloudy or green water, or a change in water level, including when it started. Keep away from equipment that appears electrically damaged and have it assessed by a qualified professional. Official guidance
